Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site
You don’t need to leave Peninsula to get your hair and nails done, thanks to the barber and beauty salon conveniently located on-site. Outside visitors come for beauty appointments at Peninsula to see the very popular stylist on-site, Jerry.
Massage therapy sessions are available at Peninsula five days a week, via both appointments and occasional walk-ins. You can also take advantage of monthly pedicure and foot care services. For a change of pace, you can always take the daily shuttle bus to one of several fine retail locations in the neighborhood.
Fitness Right at Home
Peninsula residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes or a workout using on-site fitness equipment.
A facility open to all residents offers free weights and two multi-function exercise bikes. Another fitness option includes guided resistance band workouts, designed to improve your balance and help keep muscles strong. In addition, the quarter-mile walking path is popular with residents at all levels of mobility.

Daily chef-prepared meals satisfy cravings for favorite homestyle dishes and special chef showcase meals provide a delicious chance to try something new. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members. Our Dining and Hospitality team takes tremendous pride in their service and completes the recipe for an enjoyable dining experience.
Peninsula’s executive chef, Christopher, has been with Peninsula for over ten years! Residents meet with him on a monthly basis to discuss the menu items. One resident is a former chef - he and Christopher talk through recipes and exchange ideas.
Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community
There’s so much to explore in the Gig Harbor area, and Peninsula makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.
Complimentary transportation provides residents with easy access to a variety of local activities, events and attractions, including a monthly “Lunch Bunch” outing to resident-selected restaurants, field trips to area parks, casino outings and scenic country drives.
Life is Never Boring
Peninsula’s comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.
Peninsula’s packed activities schedule includes not only employee planned events, but resident run clubs. These clubs include book club and choir club, among others. Planned events include game nights and summertime BBQ's around the fire pit. Bean bag baseball competitions against local Holiday Retirement communities and the senior center are held monthly.
Pets Make Life Better
Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Peninsula. We value the bonds seniors share with their pets and are delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and bunnies as part of our community.
Peninsula has a retention pond that brings animals around. The residents at Peninsula love admiring the ducks, and enjoy watching the baby ducks swim when they are born. They are considered Peninsula's resident pets.
Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi
Peninsula is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use community desktop computers to stay up to date, or you can connect your personal devices to the WiFi.
Residents have access to use the community Wii or the reader machine to assist in reading small print. Peninsula hosts "Tech Tuesdays," where residents learn about technology from their resident enrichment coordinator on a weekly basis.
Travel and Adventure Is Available
The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. All you need to do is relax and decide what to do on your getaway.
From your new home community you can also travel to destinations throughout the world through the Travel Adventure Program, through educational activities and food specific to the chosen destination. Reserve your seat for the next travel destination with us!
Lend a Helping Hand
Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. Residents at Peninsula are working to create a program to thank and support their local firefighters.
Peninsula encourages residents who would like to help at home by answering phones, setting up for events, welcoming new residents, and taking care of tasks such as folding menus and restocking dining room condiments. Volunteers are also responsible for overseeing and dispensing Peninsula Bucks, the community “funny money” that residents receive for activity participation.
