Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Windlands South’s dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

The Chef makes everything from scratch, and always offers plenty of variety at every meal. Our Sous Chef, Carolyn, hosts an activity every week where she serves a special homemade soup between meals, and socializes with the residents. It's a wonderful way to get to know each other. There are so many delicious dishes, but lots of residents rave about the Fried Catfish!

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in the Nashville area and Windlands South makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

Residents love taking day trips to wineries, the Jack Daniels Distillery, The Hermitage, local historic mansions, Local Botanical Gardens, the zoo, Amish Country Tours, Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry concerts, restaurants, and various Shopping Excursions.

Life is Never Boring

Windlands South's comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Residents with a green thumb love to help take care of the community garden. There's also a butterfly garden. Some other popular activities are Bridge Games, Bean Bag Baseball, and Bible Study, and Billiards. You'll never be bored!

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Windlands South. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

Look out for the doggy fashion shows, they're amazing!

Windlands South is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.

We have Tech Tuesdays, run by staff and a tech savvy resident volunteer. Residents can ask questions about their smartphones, tablets, computers, etc.

Travel and Adventure Is Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts.

We have empowered residents to become resident ambassadors. These individuals have often lived in the community for quite some time and enjoy helping new residents get acclimated to senior living. They encourage new residents to take their time settling in and them feel comfortable in their new home.

Our community is across the street from the zoo, a few of the residents volunteer their time there. We also work with Nashville Public Schools to host a vocational learning program two days a week with a group of teenagers interested in hospitality/restaurant skills.

We have a dedicated volunteer named Betty Peden who greets residents in the dining room and serves coffee 3 or 4 days a week. We also have a group of sorority ladies from Vanderbilt University, The Glamour Gals, who come in and do manicures and makeovers with the residents. That's always fun! Then, we have a local church that hosts a group sing-a-long after dinner once a week.
