There’s so much to explore in the Portland area and Parkrose Chateau makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

You can join the "lunch bunch,” a group that goes out monthly to try different restaurants. We have "Wednesday bus adventure" where the bus takes residents somewhere new every Wednesday. Other popular places to go are the Casino, wineries, Timberline Lodge, Oregon Coast, Octoberfest, Greek Festival, and the Tulip Gardens.

Residents with a green thumb love to help take care of the community garden. Sometimes the fruits of their labor even end up in the chef's meals! We celebrate all major holidays with a party and an amazing meal, and six times a year we do a fancy themed tea parties.

Lend a Helping Hand

We have empowered residents to become resident ambassadors. These individuals have often lived in the community for quite some time and enjoy helping new residents get acclimated to senior living. They encourage new residents to take their time settling in and them feel comfortable in their new home.

Some of the charities our community supports are Toys for Tots, Shepards Door, Blanket project for Multnomah County Sherriff, as well as some of the local schools. There are several homeschool groups that come to the community and interact with our residents, enjoy music with them, and celebrate many of the big Holidays.
