Surrounded by 33 acres of lush woodlands, this independent senior living community offers the beauty and privacy of nature as well as the conveniences of city life. Central to healthcare, churches, dining and world-class shopping, Maple Suites is just two miles from downtown Dover, 30 minutes from the ocean at Portsmouth and within an hour of Boston’s city limits.

Settled in 1623, Dover is known as the birthplace of New Hampshire. And its quaint downtown area, full of unique shops and restaurants, reflects this proud heritage with museums dedicated to preserving its stories and historical treasures. The Woodman, founded in 1916, houses an immense collection of colonial artifacts, local history objects and much more. Spend a day in Dover and you'll be wrapped in the past.

Maple Suites is an award-winning, independent senior living community. Awards include the 2020 Great Place to Work certification, the 2019 Great Place to Work certification, and the 2019 Stars award.

Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site

The convenience of Maple Suite's on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

The salon is open 5 days a week, and we have another woman who comes in to do nails and facials in resident rooms if that's easier for them.

Fitness Right at Home

Maple Suites residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

There's a group goes out every Sunday to walk around the property. We have personal trainers available to the residents, and some of the popular classes are yoga and Zumba.

Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Maple Suite’s dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

Our chef takes a lot of pride in the food presented, and makes everything from scratch, including fresh bread baked daily! We have a monthly roundtable, and regular Food Focus Groups in an attempt to make creating the menu a collaborative effort between staff and residents. The chef prepares many delicious dishes, but the American Chop Suey is a fan favorite for sure.

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in Dover, and Maple Suites makes sure residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

You can join the "lunch bunch,” a group that goes out once a month to try different restaurants. It’s a great opportunity to make friends with fellow foodies! Some of the popular bus outings are trips to Flaghill Winery, Portsmouth Harbor Cruises, Mount Washington Cruise, and Prescott Park.

Life is Never Boring

Maple Suite’s comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Residents with a green thumb love to help take care of the community garden. Sometimes the fruits of their labor even end up in the chef's meals! Some of the popular activities around the community are Bocce Ball, Bingo, Sweet Stitches, Writing Club, Brain Games, and Art in the Atrium.

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Maple Suites. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi

Maple Suites is fully equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected. You can use a community desktop to stay up to date, or you can connect your personal devices to the WiFi in common areas throughout.

We have Tech Tuesdays where the REC and "The Tablet Squad" answer questions residents may have about their devices, and how to make the most of them. There are tablets set up in the library, ready for resident use with "how-to-guide" as well as the date for the next tech class.

Travel and Adventure Is Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Maple Suites also operates a program that lets residents get a taste of faraway countries. Once a month, residents can enjoy a themed happy hour with music, food, and presentations related to a new country. They also get a stamp in their community passport.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. Some of the charities our community helps are Dover Mounted Police (raised over $1,000 for them this year) KIND (animal shelter), and Dover Children Center (orphanage). We welcome outside volunteers as well. Residents love the the Girl Scouts meet at the community every other week.
