Interests and Activities at Aspen View
Local Beauty Care
The convenience of Aspen View on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.
Students from local beauty schools often provide services and outside visitors schedule appointments at Simi Hills to see the popular stylist on site.
Fitness Classes
Aspen View residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.
Join our group classes every morning. From strength class and Gentle Joints class to balance classes and FitGevity led by a Silver Sneakers instructor, you'll stay in tip-top shape. Residents also love "Walking Poker."
Nutritious Dining for Seniors
Enjoy restaurant-style dining served by courteous staff. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Aspen View’s dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.
Chef Jon holds diplomas in gourmet cooking and catering (with honors) and dietary management and is certified in Nutrition Challenges for the Older Adult. He's passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience and hosts a monthly roundtable with residents to gather feedback and menu ideas.
Local Area Activities
There’s so much to explore in the Billings area and Aspen View makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.
Complimentary transportation provides residents with easy access to a variety of local activities, events and attractions, including field trips to plays, band concerts, farmers markets, antique shopping, and events around town.
Social Activities for Seniors
Aspen View’s comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social, or vocational wellness.
Plant vegetables in our eight-plot garden and share your harvest with neighbors. Join our late night card games for night owls. Exercise your vocals in our community choir and perform at shows. Enjoy events with fun themes. Attend bi-monthly piano concerts by a talented entertainer featured on the Today Show.
Pet Friendly
Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Aspen View. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.
Pickles the Poodle is our adopted community pet as well as the ducks that live in the campus pond. Residents love special surprise visits from shelter puppies that need to be socialized before finding their forever homes.
Community Technology
Aspen View is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.
We host "Tech Tuesdays," where residents learn about technology from their resident enrichment coordinator on a weekly basis. We cover topics like online shopping, emailing, internet use, and social media. Several staff members have a wealth of knowledge in technology, and are always happy to help residents with any technology issues or answer questions.
Independent Senior Travel
The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.
Volunteer Opportunities
Many residents get a sense of fulfillment in donating time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. Our "Nifty Knitters' group makes hats to support Shaken Baby Syndrome fundraising efforts at hospitals. They also distribute hats, mittens, and blankets to lower income schools and nursing homes.
We empower residents to become resident ambassadors. These individuals have often lived in the community for quite some time and enjoy helping new residents get acclimated to senior living. They encourage new residents to take their time settling in and help them feel comfortable in their new home.
