Flexibility to Customize Your Care at Country Squire

Residents appreciate the freedom and flexibility our independent living communities offer as needs around personal care and medical assistance change. Choosing a la carte from third-party health care and personal care providers* -- many with offices right inside the community -- gives them the power to choose their providers and obtain similar services as they would in a higher level of care like assisted living, but without giving up the independence, warm community of friends, and fun-loving atmosphere they enjoy so much.

Interests and Activities at Country Squire

Local Beauty Care

The convenience of Country Squire's on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

Outside clients are welcome into the salon for services as well.

Fitness Classes

Country Squire residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

Country Squire maintains a packed activity schedule, including exercise expert-led classes every morning. In the warmer months, many residents enjoy walking the quarter-mile loop around the manicured grounds.

Nutritious Dining for Seniors

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Country Squire's dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

Our award winning Chef has been here for 14 years and the little touches he does every day are too many to count. The Chef came from a high-end restaurant background and creates amazing Italian dishes. He hosts a monthly roundtable in order to get feedback on the menu and prepares all meals from scratch.

Local Area Activities

There’s so much to explore in the St. Joseph area and Country Squire makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

Highlights include excursions to the annual eagle migration, the Chiefs during training camp, Fall Foliage tours, The Pony Express Museum, The Jesse James House, or to spend an afternoon at the casino. Twice-weekly, residents can take advantage of the community transportation to dine at the area's many fabulous restaurants.

Social Activities for Seniors

Country Squire's comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

We have BINGO bashes and show and tell once a month, which is an excellent opportunity for residents to get to know each other. There's also a donut and coffee meet and greet every Saturday morning. As an added bonus, the chef carves ice sculptures for the big holidays in the winter, which is a big crowd favorite to watch.

Pet Friendly

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Country Squire. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

Country Squire isn't just home to cats and dogs, however. It's also home to a custom-built aviary, located in the main atrium for all residents and guests to enjoy. The eight little finches are right at home in this utterly pet-friendly community. Therapy animals also visit the community, residents love to play and cuddle with them!

Community Technology

Country Squire is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. In the community's activity room, residents have access to the large-screen television, and it also houses all the necessary office equipment residents may need, such as a community computer, printer and scanner.
