Nestled at the edge of a quiet subdivision, Glen Eagle retirement community offers residents the best of country and city living. Enjoy long strolls along Kids Creek and the Kids Creek Trail, which both straddle the senior living community. You might also spot deer in the surrounding woodlands.

When you’re craving some hustle and bustle, the independent living community is just a mile to multiple shops, restaurants and a movie theater. Residents also enjoy living just five miles from charming downtown Traverse City, home to a variety of quaint restaurants, breweries and wineries, as well as a full lineup of events. Don’t miss the weekly downtown summer art walks and farmers' markets. The National Cherry Festival, a Traverse City tradition since 1926, has also been recognized as one of the country’s top events.

Glen Eagle is an award-winning, independent senior living community. Awards include the 2019 Great Place to Work certification and the 2017 SeniorAdvisor Best of Senior Living award.

Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site

The convenience of Glen Eagle's on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

Outside clients are welcome to enjoy the salon services as well. A lot of people that come in have personal relationships with residents.

Fitness Right at Home

Glen Eagle residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

Residents keep active with a never-ending schedule of activities, which include dancing, morning strolls and a community favorite: cardio drumming. For those who prefer to get outside, Glen Eagle backs Kids Creek, and access to the Kids Creek neighborhood walking trail is right next door.

Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Glen Eagle’s dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

Our Chef has won awards such as the Touch of Excellence Award, Culinary Arts Award and Chef of the Region Award within the Holiday family. Chef has regular meetings with residents where they can provide feedback and make requests. Mostly everything is homemade, there's always lots of variety on a given day, and the menu is consistently changing. And if you haven't tried the caramel popcorn, you're missing out!

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in the Traverse City area and Glen Eagle makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

A few popular excursions include the annual Traverse City Film Festival, which happens annually in July, and the National Cherry Festival in June. The community also organizes bus trips to wine country on the Old Mission Peninsula, just in time for fruit season and wine tastings. Some other popular outings include trips to Orchards, Minor league baseball, Casinos, Lighthouses, and the Opera house.

Life is Never Boring

Glen Eagle’s comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Residents with a green thumb love to help take care of the community garden. Sometimes the fruits of their labor even end up in the chef's meals!

No matter what the activity, participation is always high!

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Glen Eagle. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

Therapy animals sometimes come to the community, ready to play and cuddle with the residents. Everyone loves it!

Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi

Glen Eagle is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.

Residents can also brush up on their computer skills by joining Techie Tuesday. It's run by our enrichment coordinator, and residents have the opportunity to ask tech focused questions, and learn how to better use their devices.

Travel and Adventure Is Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts.

One of the community's most active volunteer groups meets weekly to knit and crochet hats for babies born at the local hospital, as well as teddy Bears to send to Africa.
