What are your interests?

Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site

The convenience of Bluebird Estates' on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

Students from the local beauty schools come in to provide services, and clients from outside the community are welcome too. Everything is very well-priced, and the staff is spectacular.

Fitness Right at Home

Bluebird Estates' residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

Lots of residents go for walks outside, and in the colder months we do indoor scavenger hunts. There's weekly yoga, and a large part of the fitness program was designed by 6 OT and PT specialists. It's really focused on keeping the residents in the best shape possible.

Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Bluebird Estates' dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

As Regional Chef of the Month twice thus far, our chef not only makes the food delicious, it's made with love. There's a monthly chef/resident meeting where residents can provide feedback and make requests. A few dishes everyone requests are the New England clam chowder, hot dogs and beans, and the crab cakes.

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in the East Longmeadow area and Bluebird Estates makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

Some of the popular outings include trips to the beach, to see the foliage, museums, and the Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary. You can join the "lunch bunch,” a group that goes out regularly to try different restaurants.

Life is Never Boring

Bluebird Estates' comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Residents with a green thumb love to help take care of the community garden. Sometimes the fruits of their labor even end up in the chef's meals! Groups play different brain games 7 days a week, and there are lots of spotlight events that are always very well-attended.

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Bluebird Estates. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

We even have animals that come entertain. Sophie the singing dog from the Springfield Kennel Club comes over to put on a show! The resident dogs have weekly playdates, and the walking paths are perfect for dogs, they even have pet clean-up stations.

Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi

Bluebird Estates is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.

There is a tech Q&A once a week with staff, and once a month, a tech squad comes in to teach new techy things.

Travel and Adventure Is Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts.

There's a knitting group that makes hats, mittens, and scarves for Ronald McDonald and local children's hospitals. The community also organizes clothing drives, collects school supplies for local schools, and supports the Cancer Society and Big brother/big sister.
