Flexibility to Customize Your Care at Willow Park

Residents appreciate the freedom and flexibility our independent living communities offer as needs around personal care and medical assistance change. Choosing a la carte from third-party health care and personal care providers* -- many with offices right inside the community -- gives them the power to choose their providers and obtain similar services as they would in a higher level of care like assisted living, but without giving up the independence, warm community of friends, and fun-loving atmosphere they enjoy so much.

Interests and Activities at Willow Park

Local Beauty Care

The convenience of Willow Park's on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

Outside community members regularly stop in to patronize the beauty salon, read our activity calendar and visit with residents. Manicures and pedicures are available. Avon representatives visit every other month to introduce new beauty products and offer makeovers.

Fitness Classes

Willow Park residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

Classes include yoga, "chairdancing," "sittercise," balance, stretching and light weights. Our residents gather for an indoor walking club, morning walkers and late afternoon outside walkers (weather permitting). A physical therapist is available on-site.

Nutritious Dining for Seniors

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Willow Park's dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

At Willow Park, catfish is a favorite dish among the residents. Our chef hosts a monthly roundtable discussion with residents to get their feedback on cuisine. Our chef has won awards and makes all meals by scratch.

Local Area Activities

There’s so much to explore in the Evansville area and Willow Park makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer.

We regularly explore casinos, malls, local shopping, museums, farmers markets, Fantasy of Lights and Holiday World Fantasy of Lights. Residents love exploring new restaurants, and so three "lunch bunches" have been created. One is a free soup luncheon at a church where preschoolers serenade the residents. Once a month, we visit restaurants for dinner.

Social Activities for Seniors

Willow Park's comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Our residents enjoy caring for potted plants on the front and back porch, gathering for morning coffee klatches, discussing current events, playing bridge, clabber and euchre.

Pet Friendly

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Willow Park. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

We even host dog shows and pet picture days.

Community Technology

Wiilow Park residents enjoy WiFi access throughout most of the building, as well as a computer for resident use. We also offer a Wii console and viewfinder for small text. Willow Park is highly responsive when it comes to resident needs for technology. We offer tech support one-on-one to our residents.

Independent Senior Travel

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Beginning in January, Willow Park will offer a travel program that lets residents get a taste of faraway countries. Once a month, residents can enjoy a themed happy hour with music, food and presentations related to a new country.

Volunteer Opportunities

At Willow Park, many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. Our residents collect and donate plastic grocery bags to a church to create bedding for the homeless. Many residents are retired teachers and principals so we support our local schools. We collect canned goods for the homeless during Thanksgiving, Toys for Tots during Christmas, and donate socks to the homeless..

The Ivy Tech college students assist us with a December activity and a spring beanbag baseball competition: The Willow Park Whippets vs. The Masked Marvels.

Keeping Our Community Healthy

Willow Park operates with extensive protocols that mitigate the spreading of COVID-19 and transparently shares the number of active resident cases, updated weekdays by 11 A.M. Eastern Standard Time.
