Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site

The convenience of Curtis Creek's on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

Outside patrons are welcome into the salon, and there's also a message therapist that comes in. We believe in self care at the salon.

Fitness Right at Home

Curtis Creek residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

There is chair yoga with a certified yoga instructor, daily exercise with a volunteer physical therapist, and pound class with a certifies pound trainer. A walking club walks on property together. Curtis Creek has become known for its “flash mobs,” where groups of seniors create spontaneous dances and other entertainment at venues around Quincy once a month. Check it out on Facebook under Curtis Creek Flash Mob!

Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Curtis Creek's dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

The chef has won many awards, including 2 culinary arts awards, 1 regional chef award, and 1 touch of excellence award from Holiday. One of the residents is a former food critic who traveled the world and talks with the chef regularly. The overall style is Midwestern home cooking.

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in the Quincy area and Curtis Creek makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

Residents love to visit the casino, orchards, thrift stores, take scenic drives, and have picnics in the park. There are 3 different "lunch bunch" crews that get together. The Romeo's is comprised of men, the Curtis Creek Tea Totalers is comprised of women, and a third one for men and women.

Life is Never Boring

Curtis Creek's comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Residents love a good rivalry when it comes to baseball; Cardinals and Cubs fans banter back and forth. There's a monthly friends and family karaoke night, a positivity group, plenty of card games, and cookies and cappuccino nights. Other events include dances, a car show, Easter egg hunt, cancer walk, and a flea market/yard sale.

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Curtis Creek. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

If you don't have a pet, you can cuddle up to the therapy animals that come visit the community. And don't worry about waste; a fireman stops by weekly to pick up the pet waste from the grounds. He is affectionately called "The Pooper Scooper."

Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi

Curtis Creek is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.

Residents love to play wii bowling, and Alexa is also a big hit to get information or play music.

Travel and Adventure Is Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. One cause residents are involved with is 2 by 4's for Hope. They build new homes for veterans with donations and staff volunteers. Another resident, with her group, makes teddy bears for the local hospital and ambulance service.

We have empowered residents to become resident ambassadors. These individuals have often lived in the community for quite some time and enjoy helping new residents get acclimated to senior living. They encourage new residents to take their time settling in and them feel comfortable in their new home.
