There’s so much to explore in the Gainesville area and The Atrium at Gainesville makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

Life is Never Boring

The Atrium at Gainesville’s comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Our gardening club is very popular. Residents have their own plots and the club even releases a monthly newsletter. We're in the heart of Gator Country, so naturally we have a tailgating party for every game. Fraternities from the University of Florida often come root on the team with us.

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at The Atrium at Gainesville. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

Pooches love frolicking with four-legged friends in our fenced-in dog park. Our outdoor cat likes to hang out with residents all day and sits with them while they wait to board the community bus.

Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi

The Atrium at Gainesville is fully equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected in common areas. You can use a community desktop to stay up to date, or you can connect your personal devices to the WiFi in common areas throughout.

Residents have access to the community Wii for Wii bowling and other games. Our resident enrichment coordinator hosts "Tech Tuesdays," where residents learn about technology and how to use social media, book online tickets, print documents, use smartphones, and more. We also have an "ALEXA apartment," so residents can try out a virtual assistant.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. For instance, some residents knit hats for preemies at the local hospital and make bookmarks for schools. The community comes together every year to support the local women's shelter and Toys for Tots. We also host a Back to School event every August. Our volunteer resident ambassador program helps new residents feel welcomed and comfortable.

People from the surrounding community give back to us too with regular volunteers from glee clubs, fraternities, and boy scouts.
