Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site

The convenience of Lakewood Estates' on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

We do hair coloring as well!

Fitness Right at Home

Lakewood Estates' residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

We have a Walking Club that takes regular walks around the property. Exercise while enjoying time with friends is always a win! Some of our popular exercise classes are Tai Chi, Balance & Strength and chair yoga. Our REC is also certified and trained in Geriatric & low impact exercise. We partner with Legacy and Optimal, and they have a variety of both Physical and Occupational therapists that work with our residents on a regular basis.

Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Lakewood Estates' dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

We like to make the dining experience a collaborative effort, there's a monthly roundtable, and the chef takes recipes from the residents and will incorporate them into the menu! One resident was always talking about red beans and rice, as she is from New Orleans, so the chef made it for her. The biscuits and gravy and definitely a fan favorite!

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in the Lakewood area and Lakewood Estates makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

Life is Never Boring

Lakewood Estates' comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

Residents with a green thumb love to help take care of the plants around the building as well as the community garden. Sometimes the fruits of their labor even end up in the chef's meals!

Wii bowling, Bridge, Bingo, and Craft Time are all very popular. One of the residents is an artist, and she teaches a drawing and painting class. We also have a great Bean Bag Baseball team, we play against our sister communities, and it gets competitive in the best way!

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Lakewood Estates. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

The Residents and staff get to know the names of all the pets and love them like their own. Even the many squirrels on our property get love from our residents, from a distance.

Stay Connected With Technology and WiFi

Lakewood Estates is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.

We have Tech Tuesdays where staff members answer questions residents may have about their devices, and provide instruction on how to better use them.

Travel and Adventure Is Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Each month we celebrate a different country, and then a group of residents goes to a local restaurant that specializes in that country's cuisine. Some of the popular outings include trips to Blackhawk Casino once a month, local breweries, restaurants, museums, and scenic drives.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts. Our community loves to help those in need, we recently had a penny drive for Alzheimer’s, as well as recycle old medicine bottles. Our residents who knit make hats to donate to the homeless.

Outside volunteers come into the community as well. Christian Community Center likes to come help the community in any way they can, and volunteers from Green Mountain High School come help with some of our dances. Everyone always has fun!
