It’s easy to lose track of everything we have to do in a day. Cooking, cleaning, mowing the grass, running errands – plus paying bills for utilities and other services. Not to mention the unexpected plumbing problem.

With all of life’s little tasks, it’s a wonder we have time for anything we actually want to do.

While moving out of a familiar home and into an independent or assisted living community can be a challenging transition, it can also bring peace of mind and new possibilities. Family time can be about sharing new treasured moments rather than the stress of catching up with obligations. Senior living communities allow older adults to choose how they want to enjoy their well-deserved retirement.

At Holiday by Atria, our all-inclusive amenities help create a lifestyle for residents to spend their time doing what matters most to them while enjoying the comforts of home. We may be one of the largest senior living providers in the country, but we know it’s the individual experience at each community that makes the difference.

What’s included in all-inclusive?

After a life of hard work, older adults should have the freedom to spend their time doing what they love with friends and family – not taking out the trash or cleaning the gutters. Whether it’s dusting or yard work, your least favorite task is likely taken care of at Holiday.

Here’s a list of the basic amenities, services and maintenance every Holiday resident enjoys as part of their monthly rent:

  • Three freshly prepared meals
  • Housekeeping, including dusting mirrors and the TV
  • Light linen service
  • Grounds upkeep and building maintenance
  • Trash removal
  • Basic utilities such as gas, electric and water
  • Lively™ Mobile Plus alert system
  • Social events and exercise classes

Whether you’re looking for a small apartment or space to spread out, Holiday communities offer multiple floor plans to choose from. Depending on your location, apartments can range from studios at just over 400 square feet to two-bedroom, two-bath apartments over 1,000 square feet to separate cottages for even more privacy. To save you some space, laundry facilities are located on every floor of Holiday communities.

Each private apartment comes with an individual thermostat, private mailbox and a kitchen or kitchenette – though you may not feel like cooking when you get a taste of the freshly prepared meals.

Freshly prepared meals

Whether for a casual lunch or a celebratory supper, people naturally gather around food. At Holiday, that opportunity for connection is baked into the community lifestyle. The Holiday culinary team prepares three delicious and wholesome meals every day, served by friendly employees in a full-service dining hall.

Worried you’ll miss a favorite dish? Suggest it! Holiday’s talented culinary team includes resident favorites on the menu. Communities can even provide catering in a private dining room for your special events.

Healthy, happy and wise

We believe that life is good when you share it with good neighbors. That’s why the Holiday lifestyle is designed to bring people together. With locations across the country, we know a lot of good neighbors.

Here are just a few of the ways residents enjoy spending time together:

  • Custom events, tailored to residents’ interests
  • Outings to local shopping and attractions
  • Game room for activities
  • Library for book clubs
  • Exercise classes and equipment
  • Shared outdoor spaces and walking paths
  • A pet-friendly environment

We know that some of the best companions have fur. Holiday welcomes your four-legged friends for a small pet fee. If you don’t have a pet but are thinking about getting one, browse our resources for more information about what to consider before you commit.

In addition to the classes and events we already offer, our flexible Engage Life® program encourages residents to bring their great ideas to their community.

Do what you love. We’ll take care of the rest.

The price of living well

When it comes to moving, “How much is all this going to cost?” is a fair question. The answer is: It depends.

If you’re in good health and looking to simplify your life while maintaining safety, convenience and opportunities to socialize, the cost of senior living will be lower. The average cost for an apartment in one of Holiday’s independent living communities is $3,000 a month for rent, meals, utilities, transportation and a variety of amenities.

If you or your family member requires daily help with personal care, the cost of senior living will increase. Holiday’s independent living communities welcome residents to create custom care plans with services through third-party providers. This can help keep costs down and makes it possible for residents to continue living in the community they made home, while receiving additional support.

For individuals who have more robust daily care needs, an assisted living community may be a better choice. The typical monthly rent in one of Holiday’s assisted living communities is just over $4,000.

If you’re still navigating the differences between independent living and assisted living, you’re not alone. We have a wealth of resources to help you better understand which option best meets your needs.

Financial planning and resources

You have options when it comes to paying for senior living. People typically use a mix of funds from social security, real estate and savings to cover the costs.

Comparing Costs Worksheet

We’ve created an easy-to-use affordability worksheet that will help you calculate your current monthly costs and compare them to Holiday’s all-inclusive rent.

Rightsizing your life

Whether you’re looking for a community for yourself or someone you love, you’ll want to consider all the factors that go into moving – a top stressor at any age.

At Holiday, we work with residents and families to make the transition smoother. In addition to the many resources on Holiday’s Retirement Guide, the friendly and capable Holiday staff are available to answer all your questions.
