Through the dedication and determination of our local community teams we are proud to say that we now have 193 scheduled vaccine clinics and 121 completed clinics with 80% of residents able to participate opting to receive the vaccine.
The optimism of our residents concerning the vaccine is infectious and we are encouraged by their tenacity. Our continued mantra is that we will not stop until we reach 100% scheduled clinics for our residents and associates.

Every day, we continue to reach out to state decision makers and local county health departments, grocery store pharmacies, and any other provider we become aware of, to request that an onsite vaccine clinic be hosted at our communities. Even though the vaccine is an option in many counties now and could be the right choice for a resident, we certainly recognize that it is difficult for many to attend a public vaccine clinic.
We believe that every resident should have access to safely receive the vaccine in our community without the headache of travel, long lines, and additional risk of exposure.
We will continue our local outreach for each community until a federal program prioritizes Independent Living across the nation or until access to the vaccine is provided to all Holiday Retirement communities. We are excited to confirm that in January 80% of residents, at the 40 locations with vaccination clinics, opted to receive the vaccine.

COVID-19 Vaccine FAQ
If a new resident has been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine, do they still need to follow our 14-day quarantine policy for new residents?
This will depend on the resident's current vaccine schedule. If the new resident meets the following criteria, they do not need to quarantine. Our community team will verify that the new resident has completed both doses and at least 10 days have passed since the second dose.
When will Holiday Retirement residents and associates have access to vaccinations?
Are there actions being taken to make sure our independent living communities will be prioritized as quickly as possible?
Will the vaccine be mandated for Holiday Retirement residents and associates?
Will I have to go somewhere to get the vaccine once I am prioritized?
Do we know which vaccine (Moderna/Pfizer/Other) we will get?
Will there be an out-of-pocket cost to get the vaccine?
Will I still have to wear PPE and practice social distancing if I get vaccinated?

Advocating for Vaccines
At Holiday, our goal regarding COVID-19 vaccines is to provide the most efficient access to the vaccine for all of our residents and associates. While we are excited that our Assisted Living communities were approved for prioritization in the federal pharmacy program, access for our Independent Living communities remains dependent upon the local county or state guidelines. Each individual state and county is currently making their own prioritizations when it comes to vaccine distribution.; As an organization, Holiday does not have access to the vaccine on a national scale.
Every day, we continue to reach out to state decision makers and local county health departments, grocery store pharmacies, and any other provider we become aware of, to request that an onsite vaccine clinic be hosted at our community.
Because of our strong belief in that access, we have secured onsite clinics for over 30% of our Independent Living communities with our local outreach efforts; We will not stop until we reach 100%. Over the coming days and weeks, we will continue to see changes in how the vaccine is accessed and distributed as the Biden Administration makes decisions and publishes executive orders.
We will continue our local outreach for each community until a federal program prioritizes Independent Living across the nation or until access to the vaccine is provided to all Holiday Retirement communities.
The COVID-19 vaccine is administered in two doses taken a few weeks apart. For information on the vaccines currently in production, clinical trials, safety, and efficacy, read more here:
